BioFach China from 26th to 28th May 2011 in Shanghai celebrated its fifth anniversary with a 27% increase in visitors. 14,613 (2010: 11,526) international organic product sector players travelled from 33 countries to what was so far the most successful edition of the only trade fair for certified organic products in China.
The organizer, NürnbergMesse China, was delighted with the birthday present – fully booked exhibition space with increased exhibitor figures: 342 manufacturers (2010: 313), 13% of them international, presented organic produce at the INTEX Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Around 300 participants made use of the well-balanced congress programme to inform themselves about the very latest themes, fresh trends and significant facts in relation to the national and international organic products market.
International voices at BioFach China 2011
“As one of the first manufacturers of organic noodles in Italy, the Chinese market is very interesting for us. We are already exhibiting at BioFach China for the second time and are very satisfied. On our stand we drew more visitors than last year – the understanding of organic foodstuffs appears however to be slowly but noticeably changing in China,” said Gian Luca Bettarelli, General Manager MONTEBELLO, in summing up the fair.
On the Italian pavilion visitors in the Live Cooking Area were able to watch the preparation of Italian organic products and then try them out for themselves. With the Cooking Area and eight exhibiting companies, the joint presentation under the umbrella of the Italian organic products Association Consorzio Il Biologico Società Cooperativa this year celebrated its premiere at the fair. Natural personal care products manufacturer Montalto was also represented in the joint presentation area: “We made use of BioFach China to develop a feeling for what makes the organic sector in China tick. Is the Chinese market actually already prepared for natural personal care products? Our products attracted great interest from the visitors. Even a Chinese TV broadcaster was at the fair and filmed our stand,” said a delighted Enrica Cagnoni.
German natural personal care product manufacturer LOGOCOS also gave a positive assessment: “For us BioFach China went even better than expected. The number of visitors on the stand was good, the theme of natural personal care products is attracting ever greater interest and the enquiries made by the end-consumers on the third day of the fair also noticeably increased,” explains Rongmei Hui, Area Sales Manager.
Chinese exhibitors commenting on BioFach China 2011
Mr. Lian, General Manager, Linyi Jianghu Gongmi Rice, reports: “We are exhibiting for the first time at BioFach China. On the first day we were already more than satisfied: we concluded several contracts with supermarket chains directly on the stand. The trip to Shanghai from Shandong Providence in China’s north-east, where we cultivate organic rice, has really paid off. A highly professional trade fair, which we have come to very much appreciate.”
The two largest Chinese exhibitors also expressed their great satisfaction after three days of the fair: “As one of the very first exhibitors, we experienced BioFach China right from the start and are delighted with the professional development and dramatic growth of the event. We are using what is such an important trade fair for us to enter into a dialogue with other exhibitors: we discuss trends and have an exchange on the new forms of organic farming,” says Li Yongdong, Manager of the office, Organic Farm, summing up the event.
And Zhang Chen, General Manager Assistant, Tony’s Farm, explains: “Here we meet all the potential business partners along with expert visitors. In recent years the quality has increased enormously – the visitors and the fair itself are becoming increasingly professional. Next year we will almost definitely be participating again! Incidentally, that also applies to BioFach in Nuremberg – in 2012 we will be celebrating our premiere as exhibitors at the World Organic Trade Fair.”
The next BioFach China will be held from 24th to 26th May 2012 at the INTEX Shanghai Exhibition Centre.
