The sixth Organic Seed Growers Conference will take place in Port Townsend, Washington, from 19 to 21 January 2012. Organic Seed Alliance invites you to help shape the conference by providing suggestions for content and speakers and submitting proposals for presentations, posters, panels and roundtable discussions.
Suggestions and proposals must be submitted by 1 July 2011, and applicants will be notified by 1 August 2011. Past conference topics have included seed pathology, seed biology, breeding for nutrition, breeding for ecological complexity, seed economics and marketing, and presentations from experienced organic seed producers.
This year’s conference will bring together diverse members of the organic community like farmers, seed companies, pathologists, plant breeders, food companies, policy experts, and seed advocates in two days of presentations and networking events focused solely on moving organic seed systems forward. Conference attendees will receive practical information, will be able to share cutting edge research, get updates on policy and seed advocacy efforts, and hear inspiring stories from the field. More information on past proceedings and presentations as well as on updates on the 2012 conference are available here.
