Ecocultura – Spanish / Portugese trade fair for organics

Ecocultura, the Spanish – Portuguese trade fair for organic products, will be held in Zamora (Spain) from 7 to 9 October 2011. It aims to become the benchmark of cross-border gatherings of producers and distributers of organic products in both countries. Following the success of the previous editions, which brought together around sixty exhibitors and more than a hundred producers and distributers from several autonomous communities of Spain and Portugal, this year exhibitors of the widest variety of products such as wine,oil, fruit, vegetables, rice, fish, honey, bread, dairy produce, preserves, meat and sausages, chocolate, cakes, aromatic herbs, as well as textiles and cosmetics are expected. Ecocultura will provide a website where offers and requests for organic products can be advertised, along with other information of interest to the sector. (Picture: a former edition of Ecocultura)
The Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León (ITACYL), in conjunction with the Diputación de Zamora, has established the “VI Ecocultura 2011 Prizes” to give public recognition to people and companies contributing to the development of the organic model whose efforts are an example to be followed. With these prizes, organic production is to be encouraged, especially in the area of Castill and León, where the consumption of these products is way below production capacity.
