Altogether 13 pavilions from Indian states were present. Manoj Kumar Mennon, Executive Director, ICCOA: “A really excellent mood prevailed on the three days of the exhibition. The political support is particularly important for the Indian organic sector, so we are very pleased that the government representatives were also highly satisfied with the development over the past years and with this year’s event. A large number of them visited the exhibition. Another highlight was the premiere of the German Pavilion, which clearly proves the international potential of this exhibition.”
The German Pavilion sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection made its debut at BioFach India. The 14 manufacturers at the premiere convinced Indian visitors with high-quality products “made in Germany”. Many of the brands are sold on the subcontinent by Organic Haus, a company with an innovative shop concept recently launched in India. The first shop in Ahmedabad is already open. The exhibitors from the Indian subcontinentprovided organic delicacies like spices, tea and coffee and diverse varieties of corn and rice as well as raw materials for cosmetics. Sikkim received an award for the best stand. Sudhir Giri, Manager, Sikkim State Coop. Supply & Marketing Federation Ltd. (IN): “For us as first organic state in India it is exceptionally important to be here. Many buyers came – and not only from India.”

Vidi Sadanand, Adi Naturals, Karnataka (IN) explains: “We have a shop and box scheme in Bangalore, which offers a broad organic range to support small farmers in the region. International buyers from Germany and France were interested in our products.
